All Claims Dismissed against Planned Parenthood in Federal Lawsuit

On Friday, a joint stipulation was filed in the Northern District of California, in which the plaintiffs agreed to voluntarily dismiss Planned Parenthood from Center for Medical Progress et al. v. Xavier Becerra et al., Case No. 3:20-cv-07978.

This case began in May of 2020, when the Center for Medical Progress sued Planned Parenthood and others, including Attorney General Kamala Harris, alleging that they “conspired to violate his civil rights through a purportedly bogus prosecution.”

Now, four years after the complaint was filed, Planned Parenthood and its employees have been dismissed from the case.

This is the latest in a series of victories for Planned Parenthood by UMK’s founding partner, Matthew Donald Umhofer, who has represented Planned Parenthood and its people in high-stakes cases for more than 15 years.
