Head of LA homeless services resigns after county cuts funding

The head of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, Dr. Va Lecia Adams Kellum, resigned on Friday, April 4th after the Board of Supervisors pulled hundreds of millions of dollars of funding.

“Even though I think she took some steps in the right direction, they weren’t nearly enough,” … “There was a lack of accountability, a lack of transparency and just a culture at that agency that is broken.” - Elizabeth Mitchell

Adams Kellum’s resignation follows a scathing audit produced by Umhofer, Mitchell & King, reflecting a culture of waste and lack of transparency at LAHSA.
