HIGHLIGHTS

  • Secured a federal trial victory on behalf of a minority shareholder in a breach of fiduciary duty and corporate waste case involving a $250 million company. The jury found the controlling shareholders, board members, and officers liable, and awarded over $21 million in damages … and counting.

  • Won appeal under the Texas’s Anti-SLAPP statute, convincing the appellate court reverse and dismiss claims for breach of contract, tortious interference, and civil conspiracy.

  • Defended a leading medical practice with over a dozen offices in Southern California, securing a favorable global settlement that avoided liability, preserved client’s medical practice, and resulted in full dismissal.

  • Achieved a highly favorable settlement in a contentious fee dispute with a large, international law firm, reducing a seven-figure demand to a fraction of the fees at issue.

  • Represented multiple clients in restraining order proceedings, with a strong record of complete success.

In July of 2024, Mr. Pratt was a member of the UMK team that won a $21 million award in a federal civil jury trial, finding all controlling shareholders, board members, and officers liable for breach of fiduciary duty & corporate waste case involving a $250 million company.

Mr. Pratt received his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law with a specialization in Critical Race Studies.  During law school, he served as an Articles Editor for the UCLA Law Review where he received the honor of being only one of two students to solo author articles published in the Spring 2021 edition of this nationally recognized law journal.  His article evaluated the federal government’s potential liability for psychological trauma suffered by minor children separated from their parents at the U.S. Border.  In addition to his role on the UCLA Law Review, Mr. Pratt also served as Senior Production Editor for the UCLA Criminal Justice Law Review.

Following his first year of law school, Mr. Pratt worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  He also clerked for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office in the Criminal Trials Division and served as Co-Chair for UCLA Law’s Asian/Pacific Islander Law Students Association.

Mr. Pratt graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a B.A. in English & American Literature as well as a minor in History.  In recognition of his academic achievements at NYU, he earned the University Honors Founders’ Day Award and the College of Arts & Sciences Alumni Association Award.
